UCLA football: Player updates

August 10th, 2009, 2:58 pm · 2 Comments · posted by Al Balderas, staff writer

The wait might be coming to an end for UCLA fullback Jayson Allmond and quarterback Ted Landers.

The two are waiting for NCAA Clearinghouse issues to be resolved but Bruins head coach Rick Neuheisel said on Monday that they could join the team by Wednesday.

“There are a couple of pending cases but we think that they’ll be resolved in the next day or so,” Neuheisel said. “I think we’ll have everybody that we’re expecting to have no later than Wednesday’s practice.”

Landers is a non-scholarship player.

Offensive lineman Joe Baca (Mission Viejo) said his hamstring is no longer sore and that he will be taking part in Day 1 of fall camp.

Joe must be Jeff’s brother. How is he looking?

    Al,

Btw, I heard Rick’s press conference and he mentioned Derrick Coleman as one of the players who stood out physically. Who else in your estimation passes the eyeball test? On defense and offense?
