UCLA football: The New Mexico Bowl?

November 22nd, 2009, 1:22 pm · 1 Comment · posted by Al Balderas, staff writer

Did Saturday’s victory over Arizona State put UCLA in line for a trip to New Mexico?

The people at scout.com seem to think so.

Prior to Saturday’s game at the Rose Bowl, the website had the Bruins projected to play in the Humanitarian Bowl against Idaho on Dec. 30.

A look at the website this morning has the Bruins projected for a Dec. 19 showdown against Fresno State, in Albuquerque.

The New Mexico Bowl (what, no sponsor?) usually pits a Mountain West Conference team against one from the Western Athletic Conference but those who possess the crystal ball at scout.com don’t foresee a MWC team securing a slot in this bowl game.

Other projections involving Pac-10 teams are: BYU vs. Stanford in the Las Vegas Bowl, Utah vs. Arizona in the Poinsettia Bowl (San Diego), Florida State vs. Cal in the Emerald Bowl (San Francisco), USC vs. Nebraska in the Holiday Bowl (San Diego), Oregon State vs. Missouri in the Sun Bowl (El Paso), and Ohio State vs. Oregon in the Rose Bowl.

Yeah right…USC in the Holiday Bowl. That would mean they would need to win out. They are going to finish 7-5 at best.

Chow will rip USC a new one next weekend and Stoops’ boys are going to trounce all over that pathetic USC defense.

The best thing is that Pete is so DELUSIONAL about how good barkley is, barkley will be Pete’s Trojan Horse. Keep him in Pete and you will be coaching football at Vanderbilt soon.
